First Sergeant Brian Edwards is a native of Smithfield, Virginia. He received his formal education and graduated from Smithfield High School. He joined the United States Army as a small arms repairer in July 1986. His first assignment was the first armored division in Germany, where he served as a small arms/ artillery repairer. First Sergeant Edwards deployed to Southwest Asia in support of operation desert shield and desert storm. He later changed his Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) to 79R Recruiter.

Sergeant Major (SGM) Wheeler has been an Army Instructor, teaching Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) curriculum since August of 2013. The JROTC curriculum he teaches addresses a number of national academic standards - to include Common Core State Standards (CCSS) - includes course work on leadership, civics, geography and global awareness, health, and wellness, language arts, life skills, and U.S. history. LTC James Mosteller graduated from Appalachian State University in 1989 as a Distinguished Military Graduate in the ROTC program and received a Regular Commission. After completing the Field Artillery Officer Basic Course and the US Army Ranger School, LTC Mosteller served as a Company Fire Support Officer and then as a Battery Fire Direction Officer for the 1-320th FA assigned to the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) at Ft. Campbell, KY. LTC Mosteller deployed with the 101st during Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm where he participated in the largest air assault operation in history. He went on to serve with the 1-320th FA as a recon/survey officer, a battery executive officer, and finally as a Battalion Maintenance Officer.
